In order to enjoy all the features of Aspirator, you need to have installed Avisynth 2.54 or higher on your computer and DivX 5.2.1.
It is not recommended to use Auto Codec Calibration with 5.1.x and higher version than 5.2.1.
You will also need XviD, DivX or other codecs in order to encode video. Auto Calibration codec supports the following codecs, both in English and French: XviD, DivX 3.11, 4.xx, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, 5.0.3, 5.2.0, and 5.2.1.
The complex features of Aspirator were not designed for beginners and you need solid video editing knowledge to use this tool.
For instance, with Aspirator you can convert AC3, MPA and WAV audio stream to MP3 or you can keep AC3 and WAV to multiplex them in the AVI file.
Subtitle information can be demultiplexed, which means you can separate subtitle information from VOB files.
Aspirator can convert files even if you have only 2 GB of free space on your local disc, because the application does not read all the data from the DVD, but rather each chapter in part. You can also split movies by chapters, which is useful for DVD concerts. Resize and cropping options are available within the inside resize or you can use DivX codec to access them.
