Ensuring a high quality and a small size of your screen captures is easy with the CamStudio Lossless Codec.
This application is included in the CamStudio Screen Capture software, but it is also available separately.
The main reason for using the CamStudio Lossless Codec is obtaining a very high quality of the image while maintaining the size of the files conveniently small.
This codec uses two algorithms: LZO (fast encoding which is suitable for screen capture) and GZIP (slower but producing a better compression ratio).
The GZIP algorithm is recommended when you convert or recompress existing AVI files with the CamStudio Codec. Because the file size is very small, the GZIP algorithm is recommended for archiving.
The main features of the CamStudio Lossless Codec are its ability to compress 16, 24 or 32 bit RGB bitmaps, supporting temporal compression, and working perfectly with the CamStudio Screen Recorder.
The FOURCC used by this codec is CSCD.
The developers of the CamStudio Lossless Codec caution users that they will have to enable or force keyframes when encoding with a third party application, if they want to take advantage of the codec’s temporal compression. If you don’t follow this piece of advice, all frames will be stored as key frames and the file size of the output will be too large.
Additionally, CamStudio Lossless Codec may display some artifacts when you use the CamStudio Player in some systems. If you use Windows Media Player or other popular players, this inconvenience is avoided.
Compact and easy to use, this codec will help you optimize your screen recording and obtain a high quality level at a small file size.

I have heard this is excellent but I have a problem installing it.
The file "camcodec.inf" is missing. If someone could help that would be nice.
