DVDSubEdit is a powerful tool allowing you to modify subtitles directly inside the VOB and SUP files, without needing to demux and remux subtitle streams.
DVDSubEdit can also be used to modify button highlights.
There are various options regarding subtitles that DVDSubEdit offers: repositioning vertically or horizontally, changing color and transparency, hiding them entirely, resynchronizing subtitles with video by changing the start time and the duration, and matching subtitles to various display modes: 4:3, letterbox, widescreen, etc.
Another feature of DVDSubEdit is running optical character recognition or OCR algorithm on subtitles, which allows you to modify and export them in the SRT format. Moreover, you can eliminate unwanted subtitle parts, such as information for people with hearing difficulties or typos. Once again, you don’t need re-authoring to do this.
Besides exporting subtitles to the popular SRT format, you can create SUP subtitles and save individual subtitles as PPM. If you are not satisfied with DVDSubEdit’s customization options, you can use external graphic editing applications and modify the subtitle within the VOB file.
