FixVTS helps you fix errors in VOB files and it generally allows you to improve the compliance of your DVD files so they can be handled by DVD Shrink, VobBlanker or any other DVD software.
One of the first advantages you will notice in FixVTS will be its portability.
You don’t need to install this application, but just keep it on your computer or on an external memory device and run it whenever you need it.
FixVTS is very compact, yet its features are quite complex.
FixVTS can solve a wide range of problems: opening full Video Title Sets, updating pointers in VOB files, removing unreferenced cells, fixing blank packs introduced by DVD rippers when they encounter unreadable sectors, keeping tracks of navpacks, and adjusting the IFO file for the titleset so that they match the contents of VOB files.
The fast processing speed of FixVTS can be explained by the fact that it re-writes only what is truly necessary. Only blank packs and navpacks are rewritten, instead of re-writing everything, as it happens with processing from backup.
FixVTS has not been updated for a few years, and its last version, 1.603, was added better handling of address exceptions for IFOs that are much damaged and excluding VTS 99 from the loop in the Full DVD process mode.
FixVTS is exactly what you need if your VOB files are damaged. This application is pretty complex and it may cause beginners to feel confused.
You need to be familiar with DVD files technical specifications in order to feel comfortable with using FixVTS.
In the end, your media player won’t get stuck trying to render damaged files and you will be able to process these DVD movies in any dedicated piece of software.
