MPEG Streamclip is a powerful multimedia workstation allowing you to perform various tasks: converting, playing, editing, streaming and downloading.
All these options are available for the most common file formats in a straightforward and intuitive application.
MPEG Streamclip works with the most popular video file formats: QuickTime, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VOB, DivX and many others.
Some of the options you can apply to your videos are playing, transporting streams, editing, muxing and demuxing, and converting them to formats for different devices or applications.
The interface of MPEG Streamclip is similar to that of most video convertors: information is displayed in a video preview section, where you can find out details about each video.
The input for this application can be your local disk, a DVD or streams from a web page of your choice. Before converting the file, you can preview it and use various trimming options. Video conversion is based on YUV color space and it includes among others scaling, deinterlacing, and synchronization.
One of the advantages of MPEG Streamclip is being able to handle files larger than 4 GB, no matter how many segments and audio tracks they include.
The application is easy to control; for instance, you can set the starting and the ending points and choose to convert only one part of the file instead of having to cut that section in advance.
Moreover, you can easily eliminate commercials or unwanted parts of the video and join streams.
MPEG Streamclip has many interesting and helpful features to offer. Even if the application seems very complex at the first sight, you can start by using its presets (for converting files to formats accepted on various devices).
