You wish you could use Winamp as a video player, too? By installing the Winamp PowerPlayer II plugin, you will transform the well-known application into a professional video player.
Winamp PowerPlayer allows you to work with all video file formats supported by DirectShow, such as MPEG, ASF, AVI, WMV, DivX, QuickTime and many others.
The last version of the plugin, released in 2006, also provided support for DVD playback.
Winamp PowerPlayer provides a wide range of updates to Winamp by using the DirectShow technology for guaranteed compatibility.
It supports cropping video areas and volume control with DirectSound interface; it allows using the alternate DirectShow Video Renderer which is available on the system; it enables you to apply Custom Audio Processing to any DirectShow effect filter available on the system and it displays video in normal 4:3 ratio or WideScreen.
A few precautions you need to take refer to RealPlayer or RealOne player. If you have installed these programs to your computer, you will need to use the RealMediaSplitter, which will enable the other DirectShow compliant players to play Real Media files.
Moreover, if you want to play Flash movies with Winamp PowerPlayer, you will need to install Flash Player ActiveX control.
Unlike other media players, Winamp PowerPlayer offers you some special features: widescreen, zoom, panning, and internal playlist.
If you intend to use Winamp PowerPlayer for DVD movies, you need to know it doesn’t work with copy protected discs and closed captioning may not work.
Winamp PowerPlayer is recommended to anyone owning an older computer and intending to use Winamp as a video player. It enhances the features of the well-known music player and it ensures its compatibility with the most common video file formats.

Does not work with nsv streams. What's a point? Continue to play with bars.

Solves the video-playback-in-widescreen dilemma (with the letterbox effect) - no more black bars - excellent! =D It's also great that now I can play DVD's with winamp as my remote control works well with it =)
