RadLight 4 enables you to play the most common file formats while consuming a low amount of system resources.

RadLight has not been updated anymore since 2005 and it was also available in a paid, full version called RadLight Pro.

RadLight’s performance is based on the large number of decoding modules it contains, which means it will be able to render most multimedia formats.

On the other hand, since the application has not been developed for a long time, it is possible for it not to open the newest multimedia formats.

First launched in 2001, RadLight was an excellent multimedia player at its time. Its modular architecture allows the player to use only certain features at a time, which means consuming fewer system resources.

Additionally, RadLight offers full subtitle support and it can play subtitles embedded in multimedia containers such as AVI, MKV or OGG.

The playlist system of RadLight is singular, as you can create tabs of your favorite songs instead of adding them to a large list. Organizing your media library is simple and easy, and you can even open songs directly from archives!

A common feature nowadays, onscreen display was also included in RadLight. This means that player controls are featured right on the video and you can access them by directing your mouse cursor to a certain area.

If RadLight seems too complicated to you, you can always switch to a classic skin, which is very similar to Windows Media Player. At the same time, the powerful features of RadLight are preserved.

RadLight can still be a good choice for those who have an older computer and don’t expect their multimedia player to open the latest file formats. The variety of features and yet the easiness of use of RadLight should satisfy any average multimedia user.
