Web Media Extensions 1.1.1295

5 from 1 Reviews

By installing this Media Extension package, you will be able to natively play content delivered in the OGG container or encoded using the Vorbis or Theora codecs.

Furthermore, it expands the functionality of WebM VP9, enabling compatibility with Theora in basic video elements.

Powered by FFmpeg codecs and the FFmpeg Interop library, this package boosts format support for a smooth playback experience.

Web Media Extensions brings open-source media compatibility to Microsoft Edge and Windows 11, so sites and apps can use it seamlessly—no setup needed on your part.

Included Technologies:

OGG Container Parser – Enables playback of audio and video files within the OGG container format.

Vorbis Decoder – Supports high-quality audio with the open-source Vorbis codec.

Theora Decoder – Expands video playback capabilities with Theora, a commonly used codec for web media.

Also, installing the Web Media Extensions appears to add support for UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps, such as Windows Media Player, to play Opus files.

Web Media Extensions deliver improved playback for open formats directly to your device, making it ideal for users seeking complete support for a variety of web-friendly media types.
