WMP Tag Support Extender is a lightweight free plugin for Windows Media Player, which enables tag support different from the default one (APE, FLAC, OGG etc.) and allows you to insert and edit other formats, too (MPC, WavPack, MP4, AAC, M4A, OptimFrog etc.)
What this plugin does is expanding metadata in Windows Media Player (artist, title, genre, year and so on).
You can modify this type of information directly in your Media Library.
The last version of WMP Tag Support Extender was released in 2007 and it was optimized for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows NT.
The last changes performed on this plugin were creating an OGG multi-page support and disabling the “When browsing the library” option as it caused infinite loop with OGG and FLAC files.
The fact that WMP Tag Support Extender has not been developed anymore and provided with support since 2007 makes it outdated; most users won’t find it helpful because it cannot be compatible with the latest versions of Windows Media Player and Windows.
More recent similar programs are fully compatible and they offer more features. One of the alternatives to WMP Tag Support Extender is WMP Tag Plus.
Even it has not been developed anymore for a long time WMP Tag Support Extender can still be helpful for those who use older versions of Windows and Windows Media Player.
If your computer is not very new and you don’t use the latest technologies, WMP Tag Support Extender can still help you enable tag support and gain easy access to music files metadata for formats such as OFG, AAC or MP4.

Didn't work, also doesn't have an easy uninstall file.

did nothing in WMP11
WMP Tag Support Extender 1.4
It is labeled for WMP 10, I'm running WMP 11 and it does not work. If it works for 10, the text on the promo page at free-codecs.com should be explicit.
