x265 Encoder is a piece of software enabling you to encode videos into the HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) format.
As Graphical User Interface (GUI), we suggest you to use x265vfw.

x265 transfers the quality and speed of H264/AVC to the H.265/HEVC standard, doubling data compression ratios while maintaining the same video quality.
This codec supports resolutions up to 8192x4320 and achieves data compression ratios up to 1000:1.
X265 is the spearhead of the next generation of codecs. This codec is aimed at the HEVC standard, which stands for High Efficiency Video Coding.
The format was first released in 2013, but there are already tools helping you to get the most out of it, such as the x265 Encoder.
This new codec is able to encode your videos to the HEVC format thanks to a variety of features, such as the one called motion estimation (breaking the image in blocks of various sizes depending on complexity of the areas).
The x265 is based on the x264 codec and borrows much of its technology, while it has also developed some concepts which are different from its predecessor. Some aspects, such as the wavefront processing, exceed H.264’s capabilities.
Other features of the x265 Encoder include full prediction and transform quad-tree recursion supported, CABAC entropy coding, adaptive B-frame placement, weighted prediction for P slices, multiple reference frames, scenecut detection, and rate control: constant quantizer, constant quality, single pass ABR, optional VBV.
x265 is available to anyone under the terms of the GNU GPL 2 license.
x265 is also available to commercial companies who wish to distribute x265 without the open-source restrictions that the GPL license imposes.
The update introduces several new features, including Segment-Based Rate Control, Motion-Compensated Spatio-Temporal Filtering, and Film-Grain Characteristics as an SEI message.
Enhancements include Dolby Vision 8.4 Profile support and performance optimizations for ARM64 NEON and SVE/SVE2, improving performance by 20%.
Bug fixes address issues like Linux core utilization, resolution crashes, ARM build problems, and various other stability improvements.
x265 Encoder will definitely become a must as the HEVC standard will gain more and more popularity, but you can start enjoying its advantages right now, with the help of this amazing application.
- We also recommend to check the DivX HEVC Encoder and SVT-HEVC;

IMPORTANT!
- vs 2015, vs 2022 and gcc 14.1 are different compilers used to build the latest versions of x265 Codec. However, there aren't huge differences between x265 builds. Choose whatever version suits you better.- We also recommend to check the DivX HEVC Encoder and SVT-HEVC;

good and fantastic!
x265 Encoder 2.7.20
nice product, well developed.
x265 Encoder 2.1.69
It's better than the previous version. it's improved on it's encoding speed and output size. x264 gives 80 MB on 20 min with 1280x720 video. but in x265 it gives only 30 MB.
Perfect Work. Continue it.
