YMPEG is a VfW application whose main advantage is its ability to encode video provided by any software, such as VirtualDub, Adobe Premiere, DVDx, AE or Vegas, by using the Windows Compression Manager.
It integrates perfectly within Windows and it offers professional encoding capabilities.
The last version of the YMPEG codec was 3.3, launched in 2006. It uses some of the most sophisticated algorithms of that time, and it requires CPUs with SSE support, such as Intel P-III and above or AMD Athlon and Above.
YMPEG provides access to a very wide variety of MPEG encoding settings and it enables you to easily compress videos.
With YMPEG, encoding is performed live, without intermediate frame servers.
Other features of this program are the progressive and interlaced video option, the variable and constant bit rates, the fully customizable GOP structure, the MPEG-2 profiles, adaptive motion compensation, 8-11 bit selectable DC precision, ZigZag and Alternate scan, working with IPB, IP or I-only streams, supporting Audio Layer 1 and 2 and the complete control on quantization matrixes.
YMPEG supports some of the most common video formats: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, VCD, SVCD, DVD, KVCD and CVD encoding.
There are several reason why YMPEG represents a good choice: it enables encoding directly from any application without intermediates, it is compatible with OS and a wide range of applications, it can convert various formats to MPEG, it provides its users with a variety of encoding options and it performs real-time encoding (depending on computer performance).
YMPEG is one of the fastest and most reliable codecs, and still offers good performance, even if it has been discontinued. Its compatibility with a variety of applications and its rich set of configuration options satisfy a variety of users.

Works great. Absolutely recommendable.

Please read tutorial. YMPEG gets integrated with Windows and hence no separate exe requires. You can use YMPEG from your favorite application.
