AVS Video Tools 5.5
Although I have read some negative reviews on some websites regarding AVSMedia Converter, I have found the product to be stable and a solid performer as advertised for converting video to a variety of formats. As someone who delivers on-line instructional content the ability of your software to convert media to swf flash has been invaluable.
The files created are optimally sized for imbedding into MS Powerpoint slideshows without the need for uploading the original media files. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing reliable video conversion.
To those persons reporting problems, it is important that your system have sufficient RAM and the latest codecs installed to avoid crashes and error messages.

Well done! what a fantastic set of tools. It does all it says it will do and so easily as well. Thank you very much. Kind regards. Paul Castle.

I bought AVS Video Converter a while back to do a specific conversion job and then it just lay on the hard drive - until I bought a DLink Media Player (DSM 520) to stream HD video files to my main TV.
The DSM 520 will play only a limited set of formats and this is where Video Converter has a chance to shine - and it certainly does. I have converted loads of files from one file type to another, in sizes from 50MB up to 5GB, and Video Converter has performed flawlessly. As more video content is available online for download and viewing at home from your own media server Video Converter becomes an essential tool.
I would recommend it to anyone - it has a friendly layout and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
