Real Alternative 1.90
I love this program as I do QT Alt and MPC, but would really like to see a new version released that will work with IE8.
Real Alternative 1.90
I can't rate this as anything above 1 seeing as I'm unable to use this, due to the fact that it's not a codec, it's an application - rendering it open to the limitations of applications such as not working cross-platform, through different operating system versions, and having to use this "codec" to replace your current media player, instead of enhancing it.
Real Alternative 1.90
i always used real alternative ... but now it's not working with explorer 8.
does anybody know if this is fixable?
thank you

Downloaded Real Alt and "installed" it...no icon on desktop; and when I try opening the program from my progam listing nothing happens. I have a Vista64, so (notwithstanding that it's supposed to run on Vista) I presume it doesn't work on this Vista version.

It's small and fast and plays .rm files on my xp system; what more could I ask?
I agree with comment 22 Apr 2006 | Written by: Graham, that after clicking Stop, there's no way to Play other than closing RA and clicking the filename in Explorer. A pain in the ass and so noticeable it should have been spotted immediately by the developer and fixed. Havent tried any previous versions so don't know if this bug occurred in any.
Havent tried the Mozilla/Firefox plugin.
I'm GLAD this app UNINSTALLS Real Player, which was installed on my machine by the vendor.

Real Alternative 1.82
First, my most sincere thanks to all of those who have built and promoted Real Alternative and QuickTime Alternative. Thank you...your work is deeply appreciated.
However, two small but important problems seem to have popped up with Real Alternative 1.82.
I finally pulled Apple QuickTime and installed QuickTime Alternative 2.6.0. Next, I installed Real Alternative 1.82 as an upgrade to Real Alternative 1.51.
Now, when I listen to ra/ram streams, each file/track takes upwards of 30 seconds to load. Under 1.51, 5-10 seconds is typical. There have been no changes made to my configurations other than those which accompany 1.82.
The second problem is that embedded MIDIs, which used to play on page load do not play at all. I am presently using Firefox 2 and don't want to upgrade to Firefox 3 until this issue sorts out.
Any ideas? Has anyone else noted either of these problems or have I inadvertently clobbered my configurations?

Well, just want to say that I am very pleased of Real Alternative - I used to have lag problems with the streaming of .rm files, but not anymore. :) Works smoothly and I can avoid all the spam that is involved with Real Player.
Real Alternative 1.82
I installed Real Alternative 1.60 in Sep 2007; it's OK, excepted that when clicking a Real .RAM file, it uselessly asks me if I want to run it; this was acceptable in 1993, but is no more in 2008.
Today I downloaded RA 1.82. Since it doesn't tell me if I must or not, I 1st try uninstall 1.60; but this requires I 1st close all IE and WMP windows.
Hey, we are in 2008, i.e. 20 years after Windows is sold as "multi-tasking": my PC has been up for weeks, I have 83 buttons on my Task bar (in addition to the myriads apps and services running without my knowledge), of course I won't close all this just to update a tiny program I can live without.

Real Alternative 1.75 is the best substitute for Real Player. But how do you create a PLAYLIST in Real Alternative. Can anyone please help.
Real Alternative 1.75
I had RealProducer G2 installed on my PC. Right after I installed Real Alternative, G2 stopped working. I reinstalled it but, then, Real Alternative stopped working. Only one works. As soon as I install one, the other stops working.
There is nowhere to turn for support. :(
