Very nice piece of software. I had some issues with Windows Vista though. If you run a multi-user environment the installer does not replace all paths in the registry. You have to replace all occurences of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\ with C:\Program Files\Real Alternative in the registry yourself. Otherwise Real Alternative won't load correctly for other users. (Media Player classic can't open files without admin privs, so does Internet Explorer. Firefox crashes when trying to load the plugin.)

So far this program has been a real answer to alot of REAL problems ive had. And Now i dont have to download that spyware ridden crap that is impossible to get with. Im not sure if this is a program made by a guy in his bed room, and not a large multinational software company, but if so, thanks dude, thats another blow to 'em!

Most excellent package thank you.

The included media player is very good. Spend some time with the file extensions settings - you can point pretty much anything at it.

Test your playback at my dot.org box anytime:

I have been using this a few years now, after I got fed up with Real Player always adding it processes to startup, and always trying to make connections even when specially diabled all those options.

Anyway this is a must have program, and is a great way of getting MPC on top. Works with every Real media file I have used, so no problems there.

I have read some info on the net that it might not be leagl using this pogram, but i don\'t care as its much better than the orgional Real Player.

Thanks for the RA package. I've been using it on and off for years now. However, I still have problems receiving streaming RAM files with RA from a seemingly busy/high-traffic site:

http://www.democracynow .org

System:

Windows XP
Celeron 256k
DSL

After approx 1 min 30 sec, RA shuts down and the following message appears:

"Connection to server has timed out. You may be experiencing network problems."

On a separate computer with Real Player installed, this is not a problem.

Otherwise, other streaming sites seem to work with RA.

Please fix this.

Excellent program. I found only one glitch. It won't self terminate with Replay Radio at the end of a broadcast. Otherwise it streams just fine and works beautifully.

I have two computers (both Windows Vista Ultimate), and I installed Real Alternative on both systems. But on one of the machines, I get this flashing green vertical bar right in the center of the video, when I try to play a RMVB file. Very strange, because it works fine on my other computer...

Around 50% of real videos I like to watch (because d**n webpages don't offer other formats) don't play with real alternative (player crashes). For example those here:

What's wrong?
